Practice Areas

Simon Law Group is a New Jersey law firm representing individuals, families, professionals, and small businesses. Our work is organized into seven core practice areas, each opening to the specific sub-practices and the controlling New Jersey law beneath it, so a single firm can carry a matter that touches more than one of them.

The Firm's work spans the legal events that change people's lives — divorce, estate planning, serious injury, criminal exposure, civil disputes, and financial distress. Each pillar below opens to a deeper page with practice scope, the controlling New Jersey statutes and cases, and the specific sub-practices we maintain.

Geographic scope. Simon Law Group serves all 21 New Jersey counties in the practice areas the firm handles. See the Legal Disclaimer for practice-area limitations including employment law, medical malpractice, and IP prosecution that are outside the Firm's current scope.

Why the practice is organized this way. Legal problems rarely arrive one at a time. A divorce reaches an estate plan and the marital home. A serious injury raises benefits, employment, and long-term financial questions. A business dispute can pull in real estate, a partnership, or bankruptcy. Grouping the work into pillars, rather than scattering it across unrelated specialists, lets the Firm see those connections early and keep one strategy intact — so a client is not forced to restart with a new lawyer each time the matter evolves. When a case sits inside a single pillar, it is handled by the attorney who works that area every day; when it crosses two, the relevant attorneys consult so timing, leverage, and long-term consequences are weighed together.

  2. Estate Planning, Trusts & Probate

Wills and trusts (revocable and irrevocable), advance directives and powers of attorney, elder law and Medicaid planning, special needs trusts, asset protection, and probate administration. A will alone moves an estate through Surrogate’s Court; trusts are often the right tool where there is real estate, a blended family, a beneficiary who needs protection, or a larger estate. Where we practice

The Firm practices statewide, across all 21 New Jersey counties, for every pillar above — family law, estate planning, personal injury, civil and business litigation, real estate, criminal defense, and financial-protection matters. Where a case touches more than one county or more than one practice area, the work is coordinated from the Firm’s Somerville, Morristown, and Flemington offices rather than handed off.

For county-by-county information, see Areas We Serve.
